A two-person firm for Dallas businesses that want a real bookkeeper

Dallas has every kind of small business there is — restaurants in Deep Ellum and Bishop Arts, professional firms Uptown and downtown, contractors and trades across the city, medical practices, retailers and e-commerce sellers.

Most of them have options: a big national firm, an app, or an offshore team. What many of them actually want is one person who knows their books, answers the phone and explains the numbers in plain language. That's how we work.

One Source Bookkeeping is Kristina Weaver and John Morgan — both Intuit Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisors, with more than 35 years between us. When you call, you reach one of us, and one of us does your books.

What we get called about in Dallas

The situations we see most with Dallas businesses.

  • Bookkeeping handed off to an app. Automated categorization that nobody reviewed, with months of misclassified transactions.
  • Offshore bookkeeping that stopped answering. Statements arriving late with no one to explain them.
  • Several entities and no clear picture. Shared costs never allocated and intercompany balances that don't net out.
  • Books that aren't ready for a lender or buyer. A loan application or sale coming up, and statements that won't hold up.

Questions from Dallas business owners

Why a two-person firm instead of a large one?

You work with the person who actually does your books. When you call, you reach one of us, and we know your file. That's the whole model.

Do you meet clients in Dallas?

Yes, when it helps. We're in Frisco, about thirty minutes north, and most of the monthly work happens remotely through QuickBooks Online.

Our bookkeeper just left. Can you take over mid-year?

Yes, and it's one of the most common ways clients come to us. We'll get access to the file, work out what state it's actually in, and tell you honestly whether it needs cleanup before we can run it monthly. Taking over mid-year is normal — we'll have your books current well before your CPA needs them.

How much does bookkeeping cost?

Every package is custom. We look at how many accounts need reconciling, how many transactions run through them each month and how complex the entity structure is, then quote one monthly number before you commit. The books review is free.

Where we work

We're based in Frisco and work on-site or remotely across Dallas–Fort Worth. We also serve businesses in Houston, Austin and San Antonio, and clients nationwide — bookkeeping has been a remote profession for years, and QuickBooks Online makes distance irrelevant.
